Nick Swardson, who has a funny TV show, Pretend Time, and was a hoot on Reno 911!, disappoints in this Adam Sandler–produced farce (directed by Tom Brady). Its hero is a virginal farmboy who moves to LA after he finds out his parents were '70s porn stars. Bucky believes it's his destiny to plow the same fields, though he's deluded about his blade. Of course there are copious gags about penis size and bodily fluids, but Bucky Larson could also have been a decent spoof of the porn industry, especially after Don Johnson enters the picture. Johnson is hilarious as washed-up skin flick director Miles Deep, who has a hunch that Bucky's combination of microscopic junk and an odd way of showing excitement could be a hit because porn "can also be about the cock you're glad you don't have." Christina Ricci is also good as Bucky's waitress love interest, but Swardson just doesn't rise to the occasion, apparently hoping that enormous buck teeth and a Dutch Boy wig will do the acting for him.
