"Extra-chunky punk-ska" veterans BRUNT OF IT are hitting the road in celebration of their 15-year anniversary with local stops at Club Hell on FRIDAY (the 6th) with THE DOWN AND OUTS, STARTING OVER TUESDAY, and Woostuh's SMARTBOMB (all ages, call 401.709.3923), followed by a set at Billy Goode's in Newport on SATURDAY (the 7th) with THE RUDENESS (21+, 401.848.5013).

Local band HEMLOK is back with a new vocalist in Janis Cimerol, and the fresh lineup will be unveiled at Jerky's (401.621.2244) with support from THE FOUNDRY, BEAUTIFUL SLAVE, and Hemlok bassist KEVIN WILLIAMS (who just released a solo disc). Hemlok will also play down at Gillary's in Bristol on MONDAY (the 9th), call 401.253.2012 for details.

There's loads of acclaimed local talent on tap at AS220 on TUESDAY (the 10th), with crooner DANIEL CHASE, experimental-acoustic newcomers THE TOWER AND THE FOOL (featuring Chris Rosenquest of Paper Eagles and Therefore I Am vocalist Alex Correia) and THE RACHELS (straight outta Classical HS!); $6 at the door, call 401.831.9327.

Stomp and march all over the mid-week blahs with WHAT CHEER? BRIGADE on WEDNESDAY (the 11th), when they commandeer the Olneyville Summer Concert Series in Riverside Park, free of charge with a 6 pm start. Then head to the 201 for prog-freakout maestros DENIMVENOM, with Boston-based guests CONSTANTS and CITY OF SHIPS, call 401.454.4581.

And take your pick next THURSDAY (the 12th) with 2010 'BRU Rock Hunt champs THE WANDAS opening for RUSTIC OVERTONES at the Newport Blues Cafe (401.851.5510), or head to Firehouse 13 and kick back with local folksters GLASS JARS, hosting their album release party along with BEN PILGRIM (always a treat to catch the talented Pilgrim in action) and Attleboro's CACTUS ATTACK supporting; $8 at the door, call 401.270.1801.
