Action all over on FRIDAY (the 1st): Legendary N'awlins ensemble the DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND blows through the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall Reeve (508.324.1926), MOGA whips up the waterfront jams at the Ocean Mist in Matunuck (401.782.3740), and don't forget TORN SHORTS playing the Apartment (401.228.7222). Start your SATURDAY (the 2nd) at the Providence Art Festival on Westminster Street (10 am- 6 pm) with more than 100 local vendors, and catch THE SILKS at 1 and 2:30 pm. Later that night, COMA COMA is hometown bound with a headlining gig at JR Bean's in Bristol (401.253.7526) with 75orLess Records labelmates VERTICAL TWIN and BROADCASTER, and the Met hosts SARAH BORGES and indie icons WHEAT ($15, 401.729.1005). A solid weekend on tap at Local 121: THE FAMOUS WINTERS, NINA VIOLET, and more on Friday, followed by a good one Saturday featuring DIAMOND DOVES, LAST GOOD TOOTH, and guests; call 401.274.2121 for info on both gigs. On MONDAY (the 4th), join 990WBOB.com for the "Mondays on Blast" series at the Apartment featuring FALL & BOUNCE; all-ages and no cover (401.228.7222). On WEDNESDAY (the 6th) at AS220, get a nice dose of indie rock led by SLONK DONKERSON, with THE INVISIBLE HOURS and EVAN P. DONOHUE. Doors at 9 pm with a $6 cover charge (401.831.9327).
