• OLIVIA CORNELL & THE PRECIOUS have released their first CD, available now at Bull Moose and the like. Though they won't be playing out again until fall, have a listen to Filthy Things if you've got a jones on for some girl-rock mixed with some NYC punk flavor.
• A CAMBIATA B-sides album will emerge later this month, but only at the July 10 farewell show. You know, to put a balm on the wounds their breaking up has opened all over the Portland music scene. Damn if the "Sibilance" staff didn't love that band.
• As if ELIJAH OCEAN didn't have enough going on, between fronting LOVERLESS and riding shotgun in ALL THE REAL GIRLS, he's planning on releasing a solo record later this month. No word yet on the title, but he's recorded it with ERIC BETTENCOURT and it's likely to be more introspective than some of the full-band stuff.
• CINDY BULLENS has rented out her Portland haunts, so don't expect to see her at the grocery store before the Baystock gig, but be on the lookout for her first album, Desire, on CD for the first time. It's a little like being excited about getting hooked up to the Internet on your home computer when everyone else is rocking iPhones, but, hey, it's nice to have something to sell at shows.
• We're hoping it isn't true, but a little birdie told us piano-gal RACHEL GRIFFIN is moving to NYC. That girl lights up a room.
