MOVIE MANIA Three hundred films in six days — that’s a lot of celluloid, jack. The RHODE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is daunting in its scope. There’s a documentary that investigates the parallels between salsa and reggaeton, a romcom set on the Golden Gate Bridge, a portrait of the Iraq war, a glimpse into the bi-curious lifestyles that are inching toward the mainstream, a tale of the slow, psychological unraveling of a new mom, and docs about such indelible characters as Hannah Senesh, Sargent Shriver, and Lee Atwater. The fest is honoring local hero Richard Jenkins, who is doing screen time right now with Will Ferrell in Step Broth-ers. The RIIFF is a statewide experience, with screenings stretching from the capital city to the East and West Bays through the 10th | 401.861.4445 | film-festival.org
