State of the ProJo: uncertainty
As the newspaper's layoffs, thought to be the first in its history, are due to be implemented Friday, the Providence Journal is characterized by internal uncertainty about what happens next (reassignments, zoned editions, etc).
There's talk that answers will be made known during a staff meeting on Friday, although Tim Schick, administrator of the Providence Newspaper Guild, hadn't yet heard about this when I spoke with him a few moments ago.
