Ok, I have this rule for science fiction television: if your aliens/robots don't use contractions, I can't be bothered to watch your show. I have simply seen enough nonhumans asking "What is this love of which you speak?" to last me a lifetime.

That's why watching Caprica has been such a pleasure. The complexity of the characters, the sheer beauty of the cinematography and editing, the worldbuilding, the clever and evocative scores by Bear McCreary - it was a relief to watch something so well-made, especially after trying to prop my eyes open during shit like The Event.

She-Ra: Princess of Power, a spin-off of He-Man that capitalized on the Long Lost Sister trope, began airing in September 1985. Horrifyingly, that was 25 years ago. Maybe I should finally clean all those She-Ra and He-Man action figures out of my parents' attic .

Hey, remember Lost, everyone? Who wants to hear news about Lost? You all love Lost, don't you?

Wait, don't walk away yet! Okay, yes, we probably talked a bit too much about that last season of Lost given how (in retrospect) it, to put it delicately, sucked and was horrible (even though one of us kind of liked the ending).

Fans of George R. R. Martin's fantasy novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire, have been itching to see footage of HBO's adaptation, Game of Thrones, ever since the show got greenlit last March. HBO has finally given us this video, which includes brief interviews with Martin and the actors as well as shots of the filming in progress.

OK, so this is yesterday's news, but dang, I'm excited. Joss Whedon! Neil Patrick Harris! Glee! Talk about a triple threat.

The announcement comes just in time, in my opinion. Glee's been suffering from Sloppy Second Season Syndrome. OK, I made that term up, but 30 Rock and Lost suffered the same (plus, Overthinking It shares my position on this season, and we all know they are never wrong about anything).

Gamers, feast your eyes on the new PlayStation Move. Does it remind you of anything? Just kidding -- the PSmove was bound to look a bit like a Wii-mote and nunchuck. The main difference is the lack of a wire connecting the two pieces (nice!). The PSMove works with the PlayStation Eye camera, and it'll be released in late 2010.

The doorstop-size fantasy tomes in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series should be on the bookshelf of every avid geek-lit reader. Martin's clever story-crafting might better be classed as magical realism rather than fantasy; it's as much about political intrigue as it is about dragons.
