Like someone rescuing a favorite stuffed animal from an attic, Disney has dusted off the bear of little brain for a new animated adventure that clocks in at under an hour without credits (a pre-movie short — The Ballad of Nessie — and a post-credit bonus scene pad out the running time). If you don't mind paying full price for something so brief, you'll be delighted to find a musically driven film the whole family can enjoy. Jim Cummings voices both Pooh and Tigger, and he does a wondrous job evoking the late greats, Sterling Holloway and Paul Winchell. In addition, directors Stephen J. Anderson and Don Hall nail the earlier versions' hand-crafted look (including E.H. Shepard's book illustrations). Words "bother" Pooh, but the visual integration of author A.A. Milne's original text might inspire your children to read.
