Recommended reading: Lehigh on Severin

Whatever you're doing right now, stop for a moment and read Scot Lehigh's pitch-perfect takedown of Jay Severin. It tells you everything you need to know about the WTKK host and his recent suspension. It's also Lehigh at his best.

When asked how tough he was in "Roadhouse", Patrick Swazey's character answered: "opinions vary". Lehigh has every right to his opinion. Unfortunately for him, that gasbag Severin has those same rights. (Being called arrogant by the Globe, now THAT'S rich!)If he's gone, it's all about the benjamins, not any conscience by TKK. The adamant insistence by some to ignore federal immigration laws is becoming almost comical. You may be able to make it happen. You will never make me like it, however.

AC: first off, I love the Roadhouse reference.

But I didn't read Lehigh's column as an attempt to make people like illegal immigration. Instead, I thought it was a devastating assessment of Severin's broader M.O. and WTKK's longtime tolerance of it--until now, that is. (It seems you and Lehigh are in agreement that this is really all about $$$.)

You're correct: Severin has every right to his opinions--and he can voice them loudly and proudly on Boston Common today if he'd like. What he *doesn't* have is a right to be paid by WTKK to disseminate them over the FM airwaves.

The Globe is removing an awful lot of comments on that story. And just from perusing the ones they DIDN'T delete, they removed ones must've been pretty awful.
