Meet the Mayor: Moody's Falafel Palace

Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in their natural habitats.

What exactly is shawarma?
It's meat on a stick. It's this big vertical rotisserie where they're roasting this meat and letting it marinate for hours. Then they carve off pieces and put them in a roll-up or on rice.

It's that spinning cock-like thing over there?
Yeah.

Why doesn't "shawarma" ever get used as a hilarious euphemism?
I'm sure it does. "I will show her my shawarma!"

In what ways is Falafel Palace superior to pizza?
It's less cheesy. Don't get me wrong, cheese is good stuff. But I feel like meat on a stick dripping in fat is a little healthier than cheese on a plate dripping in fat. That's the story I would stick to.

Would you eat food if your survival didn't depend on it?
I would. In fact, I wish I was able to eat only when I wanted to taste something. It's annoying that I have to eat a couple meals a day ‘cause, yeah, you're hungry, but you've got other stuff to do. You obviously don't get to eat something good every meal. Like, a granola bar on the run? I wish I could just skip all that.
