TODAY at #OccupyBoston: March in Solidarity with #OccupyOakland and Live 99% Comedy Show

We all know how fun the everyday goings-on around the Occupy Boston camp already are. If you can't enjoy yourself at Yoga, Faith and Spirituality Group, or Occupoetry, then you're probably a stiff one-percenter who feeds poor immigrants to his family out in Wellesley. And those General Assemblies – who couldn't have a blast at those?

Still despite the hella hot regular happenings and occasional Chomsky serenades, Occupy Boston also likes to spice things up with live entertainment. So far they've had a number of musical acts – Amanda Palmer, Hallelujah the Hills, and J the S among them – and tonight the camp hosts some good old fuck-the-man mirth and hilarity.

Of course this won't be the first time that Occupy Boston hosts a guest jester. Early on, local comic and UNregular Radio host (of the Morning Show and Rare and Well Done) Derick Freire took to crashing a few General Assemblies. Things went well until he made a few folks feel uncomfortable in their safe space, and he was asked to leave the premises.

While a Freire cameo is never off the table, tonight the famously small Jeff MacKinnon will swing through with a cadre of his Comedy Studio pals (line-up below). The whole thing goes down at 5pm, which should coincide with the end of what I'm told will be a 4:30pm march in solidarity with Occupy Oakland, and squatters in any other place where cops are being assholes.

From MacKinnon:

1. Come down for the show - come early or stay late and engage the camp. The show is FREE and going to be super funny!

2. Donate an item that we can bring to their camp. Things they need can be found here: //occupyboston.wikispaces.com/Logistics (Contact me to arrange pick-up for these items before the show if you can't bring them to the site yourself.)

3. Drop a message of support and/or shared frustration on the WALL. I will read EVERY ONE during the show.

We are the 99%. You are too. Let's stand-up for ourselves. It's the least we can do.
