Is this the end? Rose Kennedy Greenway asks Boston Police to oust #OccupyBoston

At a general assembly tonight, Occupy Boston is debating what steps to take -- including potentially seeking an injunction against the city -- in response to a letter from the Rose Kennedy Greenway, dated November 8, that explicitly asks the city to have police remove the occupiers from Dewey Square. "After much thought and discussion, we have come to the conclusion that. as fiduciaries for public use of the Greenway, we must request that you enforce our regulations and remove the occupiers from the Greenway." The letter is signed by Georgia Murray, the Chair o the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and copied to, among others, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis. You can read the full letter here.

According to OccupyBoston's official site,  "Volunteers from Occupy Boston, the National Lawyer’s Guild, and the American Civil Liberties Union sat down for a meeting to discuss health, safety, sanitation, the Dewey Square Farmer’s Market, winterization, and legal concerns with RKGC executives on November 9. In that meeting, the RKGC made no mention of its November 8 letter, even though the letter clearly calls on the police to “remove the occupiers.” Relations were amicable among all of the  parties present at the meeting."

The letter was evidently written before a Boston judge "granted a temporary injunction barring the city and police from removing the occupiers," according to the Occupy Boston site, which also says that "[t]he Boston judge who issued the injunction has also ordered a mediation between the City, the BPD, RKGC, and Occupy Boston."
