Meet the Mayor: The Avenue
Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in
their natural habitats.

While bartending here,
how often do customers ask about your tattoos?
Pretty much every day. I get a lot of "Is that you?" or "Is
that your dead grandmother?"
What the fuck kind of person would get a picture
of their dead grandmother tattooed on their arm?
I know. But I'm like "No, it's Anne Boleyn." And they're like, "Oh, didn't she get her
head chopped off?"
Most memorable
interactions with customers?
Um, let's see, the best is how everybody comes in and has a
different story. Behind the bar, we're
just psychologists with a different inventory of drugs to hand people to help
them with their issues. The greatest thing I've ever seen was these two guys
came in, and one of them had just discovered that his girlfriend was cheating
with the other guy. So he found this guy's number, called him, and they
confronted her together at the bar. So she came in to meet one of them, and the
other one was sitting there as well. They made her sit between them while they
let her have it for a good hour. I just kept the Jameson flowing, and that's how
that went.
