VIDEO: The trailer for The Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience

Just as there's no good reason for Joe, Kevin, and Nick Jonas to be swoon-inducing pop-idol heartthrobs, there's no good reason for this banal slop of a movie even to exist. A "tour diary" that follows the mop-top teenage Jonas Brothers over the course of one day in Manhattan.

The film is a clumsy combination of super-charged live concert footage, halfheartedly wacky stunts (Fake JoBros greet a cheering crowd! Joe and Nick are combat dancing! The boys spray the audience at Madison Square Garden with foam! So kooky!), vignettes of sobbing tween girls, and painfully rehearsed "candid" backstage moments.

With the help of a massive backing band, the brothers warble through power-pop "hits" like "Burnin' Up," "Hold On," and "That's Just the Way We Roll," the latter recognizably co-penned by William James McAuley III, better known around these parts as Bleu. As uncomfortable as it is to sit through the film, the Jonases seem equally uncomfortable being in it: Nick looks as if he were staring down the barrel of a gun, Kevin looks as if he couldn't believe his own fame, and Joe looks like a coke addict waiting to happen when the inevitable JoBros backlash hits.
