By PROVIDENCE PHOENIX MUSIC STAFF  |  September 19, 2012

Girls Rock! RI and Machines with Magnets (401.475.2655) presents LADYFEST all weekend, with a couple of dozen bands slated to rock out, including GERTRUDE ATHERTON, LE FOMO, FAT CREEPS, WHORE PAINT, and plenty more. Order advance tix at brownpapertickets.com. Dust off the vintage '30s-era garb and head to the Dorrance on FRIDAY (the 21st) for "THE PERFECT STORM" party in remembrance of the Great Hurricane, with performances by MISS WENSDAY & THE COTILLIONS, THE TROPIGALS, and more; the $25 cover includes a glass of prosecco, two fresh oysters, and "other surprises." Dial 401.521.6000 for details. For something completely different on Friday, Lupo's hosts red-hot rapper A$AP ROCKY with guests DANNY BROWN and SCHOOLBOY Q ($25-$33, 401.331.5876). On SATURDAY (the 22nd), the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket (401.762.4545) delivers KASHMIR, billed as "the ultimate Led Zeppelin experience," while Americana/roots trio RED MOLLY visits the Common Fence Point Community Hall in Portsmouth ($25 at the door, 401.683.5085). Start SUNDAY (the 23rd) in Cranston's Rolfe Square at the FALL OUT OF SUMMER arts festival presented by the Artists' Exchange; a measly $1 (and free for kids under 13) gets you admission to see 17 local acts, including BILLY MITCHELL, STEVE ALLAIN, FALL & BOUNCE, GHOST OF VIGODA, JACQUELINE BARTLETT, and a dozen more — and did we mention admission is just $1? Visit artists-exchange.org for more information. On TUESDAY (the 25th), Firehouse 13 (401.270.1801) delivers electro-metal for the masses with THE BROWNING, CASINO MADRID, and AMYST; note the early 6:30 pm start. Tickets are $12 at the door, call 401.270.1801. On WEDNESDAY (the 26th), look up some quality alt-country at the Met with QUIET LIFE, GRAVEROBBERS, CASTLE, and ASK THE DEAD; all-ages, $8 at the door, dial 401.729.1005. And next THURSDAY (the 27th), head to Mardi Gras in Cranston (401.463.3080) for a rocking affair featuring THE MCGUNKS and TONY JONES & THE CRETIN 3 — free of charge!
