WHY HER? Miss Dominique, a 17 year old from Tampa projects who’s been taken under Yo Majesty’s funky wing, patches together sped-up Santigold-school hip-hop, electro, and the best ’70s funk and disco samples ever, rap-ping rapid-fire dance commandments impossibly multi-tracked like dovetailing kamikaze planes. Her songs sound like hallucination playground beat-downs handed out by a gang of teenage female storm troopers. If this girl doesn’t blow up soon, the world should brace itself for a monster Tampa tantrum.
