While the name alone should make it glaringly obvious, the fact that the Middle East actually serves Middle Eastern food often gets ignored, overshadowed by its prominence as a concert venue. But the homestyle Lebanese food deserves just as much acclaim as any of the rock club’s headliners, and the prices are way more reasonable than concert tickets — the lunch specials, including falafel and shawarma sandwiches, are a particular bargain. It’s a veg-friendly pick, too, with vegetarian versions of traditional favorites like kibby, where the ground beef is swapped out for pumpkin.
