Review: 9500 Liberty

Arizona was not the first

Arizona bigots didn’t draft and pass their controversial immigration law without a model. That sinister plan followed to the note what Virginia white-supremacists pulled off in 2007, when the frustration of a few split Prince William County and the City of Manassas into warring factions — one largely brown and bold, the other white and cowardly.

In 9500 Liberty, filmmakers Annabel Park and Eric Byler follow right-wing blogger gadfly Greg Letiecq and his town-official cronies in their mission to “send immigrants back with love” according to “god’s plan.”

Notwithstanding that it’s an anti-hate advocacy piece, this YouTube-spawned documentary gives plenty of voice to the depraved foot soldiers and their opportunistic enablers. It just so happens that they look like race-baiting rednecks every time they open their all-you-can-eat American pieholes to fight facts with fury.
