Diamon’s ‘hit piece’
I was disappointed but not surprised to read Al Diamon’s shallow and cynical column on Dr. David Ray Griffin (see “High Ideals, Crazy Dreams,” April 30). This was the type of “hit piece” that we in the 9/11 Truth Movement have come to expect. Diamon, who has shown over the years that he prides himself on his critical thinking skills and his skepticism of government propaganda generally, is curiously gullible when it comes to the official conspiracy theory of 9/11. But I shouldn’t be too hard on him. I swallowed the orthodox story myself for years — until I actually took the time to study the subject. I encourage your readers to do the same.

Open Your Mind to 9/11 Truth
I am fairly new to Portland and I was happy to see there was a local magazine similar to the Valley Advocate in Massachusetts where I came from.
However, when I read the article about the David Ray Griffin upcoming talk I was extremely disappointed in your biased and unfair reporting. The article was childishly banal, insulting, and shallow. People with a great deal of ignorance seem to think it is great sport and really amusing to bash others about their “conspiracy theories.” Unfortunately, it appears that Al Diamon and others like him have not bothered to do any serious research to see if there might be a grain of truth ( or more) in these theories.
Regarding 9/11 and the Truth movement: I have done considerable research on this topic with the help of serious individuals like Mr. Griffin and others, including architects, engineers, and physicists who have overwhelming evidence that the government’s story about 9/11 is completely false. I came to this conclusion reluctantly, preferring to believe that terrorists brought down the towers as most people believe. However, the serious scientific evidence is overwhelming. Did you know that over 1200 architects and engineers have signed onto a petition asking for a completely new investigation of 9/11?
Did you know that millions of people the world over see through the naïveté of our people and believe that the towers were brought down by our government? Did you know that there is a serious article by a Danish scientist showing that highly charged explosives were found in widespread samples from the dust of the towers?
Please see maine911truth.org to find even more responsible and thoughtful and even prominent individuals who are calling for an unbiased investigation.
I invite you to attend David Ray Griffin’s talk on May 6 (at 7 pm at Luther Bonney Hall on the USM Portland campus). Come with an open mind and questions, as any responsible individual would do.
