[video update] The Armchairs vomit everywhere

The Armchairs - Creamsicle Challenge from Fractal Circus on Vimeo.

In late August this past summer, I woke to find Philadelphia freak-pop band The Armchairs asleep in my living room. We became fast friends and I shot a quick video where they explained their recent album release and the ensuing creamsicle challenge. It breaks down as such:

1) Each band member created his own screen-printed pillow case in which to sell the Armchairs’s new album, Science and Advice, which dropped Aug. 13.

2) Whoever sold the most of his own pillow DIDN’T have to drink a gallon of orange juice and a gallon of milk at the same time. (Note: Orange juice + milk = creamsicle)

3) And whoever won was to be fed grapes by beautiful assistants.

4) This would all happen at an end-of-tour celebration.

When I met them, I called bullshit because really, WTF guys, who would put themselves through that ordeal. Well, the Armchairs apparently take bets seriously. Drummer Andrew Harkness eventually won the bet, even selling out of his own pillow cases, and was spared the on-stage creamsickle gurgle.

As you’ll see above, the Armchairs end their tour somewhere in Philadelphia in a mess of vomit and hubris. Hmmm, delicious.

And below, their video explanation:
