[phlipcam video] Endless Wave @ Great Scott

It was damn near 2am and the Great Scott stage was coated in darkness, but ENDLESS WAVE put on one hell of a show Saturday night at their album release party for Notes From The Compound. Earlier sets by the December Sound and Eksi Ekso pushed the night back to the brink of curfew, but Boston's skygazing trio rewarded those who stuck around with a post-gaze wall of noise and fury. Here they are performing "Last Phase," the first single off last year's riveting City Walls EP.

And also, yeah, in case you're scoring at home, I did, in fact, once manage this band (watch the video and realize why). But Endless Wave were on the radar of the Boston Phoenix long before I joined this speeding party train of music journalism. Grab the "Ocean Drive" Mp3 of the Week from back in June, as well (Also PME, the Pre-Marotta Era, but just barely).

1222 Commonwealth Ave, Allston-Brighton

Great Scott has helped put the rock back into Allston Rock City.
