Commercial appeal: Starburst <3s Viva Viva
Busy times for VIVA VIVA. The Boston garage rock band was up for four awards at last night's Best Music Poll party, and while they were surprisingly shut out in the voting, Bodega Girls front man Evan Kenney gave the Vives a well-deserved shout-out during the presentation of Best Boston Live Act. Staying truly a part of the party, guitarist Chris Warren jumped onstage and joined Bodega in covering the Modern Lovers' "Government Center". It killed.
What's also rad is that Starburst has tapped Viva Viva's "Heartbreak Sweepstakes," the first track off their debut record, to soundtrack its new promotional video for The Contradictions Project. We'll let the band take it from here and explain what it's all about:
"Starburst has just posted their video for The Contradictions Project, a partnership with VH1 Save The Music Foundation to help restore music programs in schools across the country. We are psyched that our music is getting out to the people, as part of such a great project. Please check out the video below and for more information check out Starburst on facebook."
