BoMag drops Derjue

Bad news coming out of Horticultural Hall: Boston Daily blogger Amy Derjue is now a casualty of the ongoing financial meltdown.

The good news, such as it is, is that Derjue will continue blogging here. Of course, DIY blogging tends not to pay the bills. But given the talent Derjue demonstrated during her BoMag stint, I'm guessing she'll catch on somewhere soon, shitty economic conditions notwithstanding. (How about it, Boston.com?)

I personally felt she never really had a good handle on the things she blogged about. Particularly Media. Snippy comments and not very well thought out or researched information made her the last read in the media blogging world.

If you look at Dan Kennedy or your own blog, you see people commenting, participating, and interacting. Not so with her. Ther only comments left were usaually somoeone correcting her limited knowledge of what she was ranting about.

    Good Riddence......

Makes a lot of sense. Print is failing, so punish the web...

Amy was one of few local bloggers who paid attention to local news -- much moreso than present company, who is focused on national politics and media, as if there's a shortage of such commentary. She is extremely talented, funny and witty. Reading her blog soon became part of my morning coffee ritual. Best wishes to Amy -- and here's hoping she gets a new gig very soon.
