  Smaller and smaller self interest groups demand a piece of the "pie". Catholics, evangelicals, Jews, Muslims, Hispanics, gays, retirees. The list is endless. Self-serving politicians are ever willing to see to it that the rule of law is twisted, tradition is ignored in order to cater to Cubans, lesbians, industrialists, bankers, greens etc.etc.

  Meanwhile, the foundations of this once great nation crumble (Protestant Christianity, English common law and the Constitution).

  Groups like yours are the enemy within and I hold you in contempt.

  Well said,Mr.Purdy-politics pandering to ethnic,gender,or behavorial subdivisions are counter intuitive to the American way.Balkanization is good for no one.The United States was indeed founded largely by Protestant Christians and yet religious freedom was a right guaranteed unlike most European  regimes of the day.

  The concept of a "living Constitution" is as bad as "situational ethics"taught in our public schools.The Constitution can be modified by amendment,but reading "new"rights into it is destructive.

  The next demand will be for non-citizens to vote.Just wait if you think I am wrong on this.
