Washington Post: Whitehouse Disappoints

The Washington Post's political blog, The Fix, which named Senator Sheldon Whitehouse one to watch headed into the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, says the Rhode Island senator disappointed in the third day of the political spectacle. The blog calls out Whitehouse, among other things, for saying the story of Sotomayor's rise gave him "goosebumps":

Sheldon Whitehouse: We had high hopes for Whitehouse in these hearings as many Democrats painted him as a rising star within their caucus. But, Whitehouse started off oddly -- the whole "goosebumps" episode -- and spent the entirety of his questioning immersed in the sort of legal jargon that makes even the most avid watchers of these hearings zone out.
