American Hi-Fi covers Miley Cyrus's "The Climb"
We attempted to make this happen back when MILEY CYRUS's backing band was half of Letters to Cleo, but Kay Hanley wouldn't take the bait. Better late than never. And now that Miley's band is 3/4 of American Hi-Fi, we've got STACY JONES -- Cyrus's current musical director, former Letters to Cleo and Veruca Salt drummer, and American Hi-Fi frontdude -- covering Miley's megahit "The Climb," in the green room at WFNX this morning.
We doubt that the Hi-Fi will repeat this feat tonight when they play an ultra-rare live gig tonight at the Middle East upstairs (just before the Miley tour pulls out of town). So check the video above -- we're working on an mp3.
Miley's also been returning the favor, by adding the new American Hi-Fi tune "Fight the Frequency" -- which made its debut on this blog as our "Mp3 of the Week" -- to the pre-show playlist on her arena tour. Or at least she did at the sold-out Garden show on Monday. Since we there on dad time, not reviewer time, we'll refrain from making any comments about openers Metro Station. But really, Trace Cyrus? Really?
