Amanda Palmer's new album: two-headed girl!
One of our favorite AMANDA PALMER yarns is EVELYN EVELYN, a duo with her singer-songwriter pal JASON WEBLEY, in which they pretend to be a pair of conjoined twins. Besides being adorable in a Geek Love kind of way, they also do some impressive collaborative accordion -- see the video above, a live performance of their signature tune "Elephant Elephant."
There was, a couple years ago, a short demo EP and a long-out-of-print 7-inch -- the punch line of which was a B-side cover of "Love Will Tear Us Apart" (har, har). But now comes word that a full-fledged Evelyn Evelyn album is due . . . well, soonish. Presumably before the duo kick off a European tour in the spring. In the meantime, here's a teaser track: if nothing else, this gives Amanda a chance to get back to the Dresden Dolls' roots in sepia-toned, early-20th-century circus-music tonality.
