MP3 of the Week: Bozmo "Milksnakes"
“All the crust punks have credit cards,” sings Bo Moore in kicking off “Milksnakes,” the first offering from BOZMO. No, the lyric isn’t lifted from an angry thread on Lemmingtrail, but it could start a flame war there, since Bozmo’s lyrical barrage on cliques and scenes in New York is also fit for Allston, with its bad drunks, braggarts drinking for free, and orphans who “think this place is boring.” To wit: “All the unapproachable ones ain’t having as much fun as it seems” and “Your parents have a mansion in Connecticut/And you’re all eating rice, well, you know that doesn’t mean you are an anarchist.” Underneath the detached snarl is the type of a fuzzy, pop-wasted garage-rock swagger you’d expect from a band comprising dudes from WONDERFUL SPELLS, PRETTY & NICE, and THE TOOTHACHES. Bozmo release Hosanna in the Highest this Monday, June 27 at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston, so snag the “Milksnakes” MP3 right... now!
