Meet the Mayor: O'Brien's
Welcome to "Meet the Mayor," a segment in which we interview local Foursquare Mayors in
their natural habitats.

Do you think
O'Brien's was better when it was shittier?
I kind of do. When you go see a metal show, it's going to be
dirty and grungy and gritty. That's part of the appeal. It's not that they did
a bad job with the redo - I just don't see why it was necessary in the first
place. It was shut down for a really long time while they were renovating it, but
a lot of people still come down now that it's back. The metal shows on Thursday
nights are usually popular.
Is it weird how I can
ask that question without irony?
No. I was just saying to somebody, not very long ago, "Yeah,
I liked O'Brien's better before." The bathrooms are nicer. . . .
We understand you
recently returned from LA? How was that?
You know what to expect over there. Not like here, where
it's a different temperature every day. I went to go see my friends Blackguard
and Powerglove play with Symphony X.
Wow, you're friends
with Powerglove?!?! That's amazing!
I used to go-go dance for them. I toured with them twice,
actually. Hung out with DragonForce. That was cool.
