Nominate-best-2010

Is Texas Governor Rick Perry Nuts?

One would think so. Yesterday he seemed to countenance talk of Texas seceding from the union because of the Obama administration's plans for more government involvement in the economy and higher taxes.

One can certainly be a critic of the new administration. But it's this kind of talk that will take the GOP straight down the road to oblivion. There is a tendency in American history for parties that have lost a painful election to go way to the fringe next time -- it's what happened in 1936 with Alf Landon against FDR for example. We could see the same thing beginning to happen here. If so, the GOP candidate of the moment will be Sarah Palin -- who appeals to the base and will lose in November 2012 in a huge landslide.

Give Obama credit for this: He has the good fortune to have a loony opposition at the moment.

Perry is not crazy.  He's just the most recent in a long line of southern governors, who try to exploit the fears and prejudices of some citizens.  He's an embarrassment.  Unfortunately, he is also the governor of my state.

Nothing loony about his oposition, as a conservative democrat I support Perry when it comes to state rights. His stance on the government is actually a breath of fresh air, I just hope he acts before it's to late, and were all being killed with the taxs burden. Someone, somewhere has to stand up and shout we want freedom.

Obama is a good man but his policies and the people surrounding him will make every American broke wether poor or rich. Also I don't like his black radicalism. Calling our republican opisition loony is not true, what we consider as loony is accepable in their party. Our nation is crumbleing, collapseing and the nation as a whole is destroyed from inside out.

Black Radicalism?  How many black people have you met?  Obviously not many.

Perry is playing with fire.  Political dissention is guaranteed under the First Amendment, but treason and sedition is not.

Perry can take a seat for four more years.

What an immense embarrassment!  He is a fool and he makes Texans look foolish. Won't someone lead him off stage and take away his microphone ?

Oh, PLEASE ! I wish he could see how silly he looks!

He makes Texas/Texans a butt of jokes and just keeps

running his mouth. He and Sarah Palin should join forces---- they'll do anything for attention and apparently at the expense of their electorate.

Rick Perry is such an EMBARRASSMENT!  He makes the Republicans seem ridiculous and even loony.  THEY LOST THE ELECTION --- but they should at least try to act like adults. I guess it is too much to ask. Where were these "conservatives" when Bush and  crew were spending and "free-wheeling" with our money AND the U.S. Constitution ?

The Republicans are engaging is a type of guerilla warfare against the American public.  THEY LOST THE ELECTION -- America spoke and rejected them and their political beliefs.  ENOUGH !  Learn from the lesson and build the party back up, without all this

phycho talk and political posturing. They look like a bunch of idiots ! They almost sank the entire country with their rhetoric, greed, and secrecy. We voted them out because we need to try something else before we collectively sink.

Lorraine, Candace, and Mark are right!  Rick Perry needs to sit down, shut up, and make an effort to think before he opens his mouth. Does he really believe this weird stuff ? If so, he needs professional help and I hope someone will see that he gets some before his loony actions/trash talk get us us in more trouble. As a nation, we are fighting for our financial lives and this idiot gets a microphone in his hand and starts posturing for the cameras. What a joke!  I'm not laughing, but Texas/Texans are being laughed at by the rest of the country. He does NOT speak for anyone I know or anyone I've ever talked to.  How did this happen to our great state? He just handed our next election to Kay Bailey Hutchinson and rightly so. I'll be the first in line to vote ---- get this idiot off the stage and out of sight of the TV cameras ! GOD BLESS TEXAS!

I'll bet Kay Bailey Hutchinson couldn't be happier! Poor Rick Perry hears her footsteps and looses his mind. He makes Texas a butt of jokes and gives the electorate more reasons to get rid of him.
