SIDECAR RADIO’s CHRISTIAN HAYES has been dipping his toe in the hip-hop world lately. The new project is SPOILED ORPHANS, with DAVID O’DONNELL, ELLIOT ARM, and MATTHEW RALPH THEOBALD (a/k/a PACMANATEE, ERECTUM, and A.R.M., not necessarily in that order), which is a Kid Rock kind of thing, and possibly ill-advised, but fairly entertaining.

Congrats to BY BLOOD ALONE’s JACK DORAN, who welcomed son William into the world last month. Where’s the feature on rock and roll dads, huh!?!

It could be a good thing in the long run, but it’s still with some disappointment that we report LOCAL MOTIVES, the long-running live-music show hosted by JAN WILKINSON on Friday nights on WMPG, will be on hiatus for about the next six months. In a note sent out by Dee Bunker, WMPG’s program director, there’s talk of rethinking the concept of a live local-music showcase “from the ground up.” We’re not sure how else you do live local music, but we were pretty happy with hearing lots of songs, all the way through, live on the air. Well done to Jan, who put anything and everything on the air and always seemed to love it all.
