• In last week's review, that Pfeifle guy flubbed a D. GROSS song name. It's "Family Man," not "Family." He's sorry.
• Looks like the NORTH STAR MUSIC CAFÉ may be closed for good, though there were rumors as "Sibilance" went to press of potential investors meeting to keep the place going. At least one good piece of news is that JAY JASCH's RED CURTAIN SERIES will continue either way. He's already got an agreement to bring his songwriters-in-the-round format to BLUE, at the other end of Congress Street.
• Other changes in the local scene: NANCY CHALMERS, who's been booking shows at GENO'S for years, including a role as the full-time booker from 1988-1990, and more recently doing a once-a-month thing with BOTTOM OF THE EAST booking, says she's done there. Her frustration stems from Geno's no-covers stance, as she says she won't be in the business of telling her bands what they can and can't play on stage. Too bad differences couldn't be worked out there.
• The "Sibilance" staff hear TOO LATE THE HERO have signed to SONY RECORDS. No one deserves it more than them. They've been putting on terrific shows since 2003 and we're still listening to "Self Control at its Finest."
