Will VULGARRITY’s stellar stage show and massive rawk riffs once again dominate? Will newcomers THE DEATH OF PARIS continue to impress? Can anyone stop a hot (just back from SXSW) HERRA TERRA crew? Or will PC underdogs LAST ONE OUT be the last one standing? On FRIDAY (the 8th) at the Met, we’ll find out who takes the 2011 WBRU Rock Hunt crown. On SATURDAY (the 9th), the Knickerbocker Café (401.596.4225) hosts the DUKE ROBILLARD BAND, or rock out in Matunuck with THE BRUNT OF IT and THE RUDENESS at the Ocean Mist (401.782.3740). On SUNDAY (the 10th), hit the Met early and catch locals SLEEP CITY open for Senses Fail among others, while THE RICE CAKES (back from yet another mini-tour romp) play AS220 with (ex-Spinanes singer) REBECCA GATES & THE CONSORTIUM, and Portland, Oregon’s, Blue Cranes (see 8 Days a Week on page 14 for more on them); $8 at the door, call 401.831.9327. And pencil in next THURSDAY (the 14th), when the Met hosts a benefit show assisting LIFEcycle featuring SANTA MAMBA, ERIC FRENCH & MR. HYDE, and JILL GOLDBERG; tickets are $10 in advance.
