On FRIDAY (the 16th), check out MILKBREAD and TROPHY WIVES at the Fête Lounge in Olneyville (401.383.1113). Hey, anyone else remember way back when Pink Floyd tribute band THE MACHINE played the Rocky Point midway? They'll be at Lupo's on Friday (all ages, $20, 401.331.5876). On SATURDAY (the 17th), Firehouse 13 hosts a Wounded Warrior benefit show featuring THOSE ALONE, THE McGUNKS, TONY JONES & THE CRETIN 3, and KING SICKABILLY'S ONE-MAN BAND; the show is all ages with a $5 donation accepted at the door, and all active/non-active military personnel are welcome free of charge! Dial 401.270.1801 for all the details. Also on Saturday, the Met (401.729.1005) will host MINOR X, a new hard rock band consisting of vocalist Chelsy Lau along with members of Fungus Amungus, Gravity Works, and Stryk Nyne. The ATWATER-DONNELLY TRIO will perform an early set on SUNDAY (the 18th) at PVD Social Club (401.454.7177). Start the work week off with some high-powered rawk action courtesy of the 75orLess Records stable, with VERTICAL TWIN (new album out soon!) rocking the Apartment real good for free (401.228.7222) on MONDAY (the 19th), then head to Dusk on TUESDAY (the 20th) to catch stoner-rock trio SWEET LOVE (the debut album Motor is sure to land on our year-end best list); call 401.714.0444. Midweek blahs be dammed when the ultra-funky BOO CITY crew takes over at Nick-a-Nee's (401.861.7290) on WEDNESDAY (the 21st). Other Thanksgiving Eve throwdowns include THE UNIVERSES, PARYAH, and Tony Jones & the Cretin 3 at McNeil's Tavern in North Provy (401.725.4444), and BORN CASUAL and PARTY PIGS play Local 121 ($5, 401.274.2121). Take the Pats, 'Skins, and Texans in your three-game Turkey Day parlay THURSDAY (the 22nd) and have a fat-and-happy Thanksgiving!
