The 20 Greatest Bosses in Video Game History - #14: Vega

Vega

Just thinking about having to step into the cage and fight him at the Spanish flamenco club again gets me annoyed. Sagat, Balrog, and M. Bison were tough, and probably more nefarious, but Vega required taking an entirely different strategy – you had to work just to keep up with him from leaping and soaring around the room. The move where he jumped off the cage and grabbed you for a German suplex was devastating, and the mask-and-claw combo along with his narcissistic boasting gave him a creepy “gimp-on-a-chain” feel. Even if none of us knew what a “gimp on a chain” was in 1991.
