If 2012 truly represents the End Times, then it's best to go out with a sonic bang. By its nature, Boston is a transient city, and the only thing that moves faster than its residents is its music scene. Last year we named 11 new acts to ring in the new year — from Young Adults to Spirit Kid to Night Fruit — and this January we've got a dozen more for 2012, a broader range of bands, duos, solo artists, and producers who reflect the eclectic nature of our region. Some have been at it a few years, others were spawned a few months ago, but all are primed to blow up in the year ahead — hopefully before the world does. Read on to find out who made our list this year.
