Should CGI robots be allowed to vote?
Well, it looks like all those predictions have come true: We let people of differing races marry (which was objected to in a satirical note to us earlier this year), and now same-sex couples have had their right to marry recognized as well. What has the slippery slope brought us now? Computer-animated robots talking about how they will vote in November!
We await the loud protestations from the civil-rights movement that computer-generated people should be allowed the same rights as those of us who were generated in other ways (including test tubes, invasive abdominal surgery, the painful "natural" method, or various drug-assisted versions of the latter). But we'll go on the record here as saying the characters in this video should probably not be allowed to vote, because they are not people.
But some who trumpet some of these ideas are, and will be voting.
