One thing we can tell you from KELLY CLARKSON's teaser gig at the House of Blues earlier this year: her voice does not require any airbrushing. It's no easy feat going onstage after Lady Gaga, but Clarkson is pretty much the only other person who can go hit-for-hit with Gaga on the airwaves these days. After bringing the sound of Euro stadium anthems to American teens ("My Life Would Suck Without You"), and issuing the world's catchiest public service announcement ("I Do Not Hook Up"), she's currently pwning Top 40 with another one of Ryan "One Republic" Tedder's unstoppable tear-jerkers. Even Kelly's smart enough to know that "Already Gone" is basically "Halo II," but who says pop songs shouldn't have sequels? Also, we were just beginning to get over Jordin Sparks's Tedder-penned "Battlefield," so there's room for this song in our life now. We're still holding out hope that somehow Ms. Clarkson gets to release her punk-rock song "Whyyawannabringmedown" as a single. It would be radder than a Blink-182 reunion. Until then, we'll be the ones rocking Kelly's Karaoke Revolution-style iPhone app in the shower.
