Boston Skillshare this weekend, folks

If an afternoon perfecting the art of Medieval Carpentry sounds to you like time well spent, you should probably be at the seventh-annual Boston Skillshare at MIT this weekend. Run by an entirely-volunteer organizing collective, the two-day event features workshops ranging from the somewhat esoteric (“Wild Carrot as a Natural Method of Contraception,” “Making Milk out of Nuts and Seeds,” or “Spoon Carving”) to the practical (the simply-titled “Time Management”). The workshops, taught by anyone with a skill, hobby, or talent to share, run in 90-minute blocks throughout both days, with multiple possibilities in any one time slot. A $3-$10 donation, or volunteering hours if you’re unable to pay, gets you access to the event in full, including a vegan, raw, or gluten-free lunch (which should be more substantial than wild carrot and nut milk eaten with your newly-carved spoon).

The MIT Stata Center, 32 Vassar St, Cambridge | April 18th and 19th from 10:30 am to 7 pm | bostonskillshare.org.
