Bottles and cans and just clap your hands
By LOU PAPINEAU | December 5, 2012
'Tis the season to make with the beer-giving. We asked some local luminaries what they would recommend for the hops enthusiasts in your life, and what they would like to unwrap on December 25. Start shopping and then get sipping (chances are your giftee will be glad to share their new brew).

If you have any Belgian beer-loving fans on your list who want to build their glass collection, there are two gift packs that should be on your radar. The TRIPEL KARMELIET glass is very attractive and the beer is wonderful. KWAK is a great beer and the Kwak glass is unique — it comes with its own stand, as the shape of the glass does not allow it to stand on its own.
This year I would love to receive a bottle of ST. BERNARDUS ABT 12 MAGNUM EDITION 2012. It is one of my favorite beers and this is a special bottle. I would also love to receive a TWO-WEEK, ALL-EXPENSES PAID TRIP TO BELGIUM (what beer geek wouldn't?), but unless my sweetie suddenly has a winning lottery ticket, I would not ask for that.

TWENTY-TWO-OUNCE BOTTLES make a great gift. There are some very solid, high-quality, and interesting beers in that format and it's a great way to sample and experience different styles. They also make great stocking stuffers. (Hint, hint — our new 122ND ANNIVERSARY IMPERIAL IPA would be a great option!)
I love cooking. On my wish list are any of the great "cooking with beer" and/or beer pairing books.
