New In The Phoenix -- Local Musician Faces Deportation

In the new issue of the Boston Phoenix I have a short item (from the "This Just In" section) about Vicente Lebron, popular percussionist for Either/Orchestra. Lebron, who has lived (and played) in the Boston area for 30+ years, has been thrown into a jail cell and slated for deportation by the Department of Homeland Security. Read about it here.

Are Dominican musicians now considered the new threat to the US?

I am a local musician and I can only comment that Vicente is passionate about playing music and, in my judgement, he would do nothing to jeopardize his ability and freedom to do his music. He is a very peaceful person who would pose no threat towards any other individual or group that I can think of. "Homeland security" seems to be more the treat in this case.
