Commie City Council!

I tuned in to Jay Severin this evening, as I often do -- I can usually only take about 5-10 minutes, but I like to check in on as many sources as possible. He was saying that Barack Obama is a "Marxist," a "Manchurian candidate," a philosophical adherent to the same radical, communist agenda as William Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright -- the usual.

But then he surprised me a bit, by positing that there is no difference between the Boston City Council and Communist China's "Parliament, or whatever they have there." (I was driving and not taking notes, so that might not be an exact quote.)

At first I naturally assumed that he was comparing the Council to the National People's Congress, which is sort of China's "Parliament" -- and, like the Boston City Council, has no actual say in how the government is run.

But no, Severin was quite explicit that the Boston City Council was, in political ideologically, a red communist governing body. (The term he was looking for would be "Politburo.") Severin went on to say that on all issues that one could imagine, there is nothing differentiating the Boston City Council, Tom Menino, Communist China, Barack Obama, Rev. Wright, and William Ayers. He was quite serious.

This struck me as a significant accusation. I'm just wondering, does anyone have any comments that can enlighten me on which council members exhibit what Chinese Communist tendencies?
