Q&A #3 -- Posting Rules

"Peabody Square voter" asks:

How do you decide which posts get published and which ones don't?  I commented on your at-large council candidates wrap-up, and never saw it on the blog.  Just wondering.

I occassionally hear from people that their posts don't appear, and I have no idea why that is or how often it happens. I don't believe they're being screened, or blocked intentionally. (On rare occasions, I've had comments removed if they make slanderous allegations about someone.) I'd guess that it has something to do with the registration process, but I'll see if I can get an answer from the web folks here.

BTW -- anyone who wants to participate in Ask Me Anything Day can also email me their question directly, at dbernstein@phx.com

Thanks for the response on the posting rules.

I'll post my comment about the candidates forum in the form of a question:  why did you mention only Felix Arroyo's support of former state senator Dianne Wilkerson?  If supporting Wilkerson is going to be a litmus test for local politicians, then your readers should know that she counted Councilor John Connolly, Councilor Steve Murphy, Ayanna Pressley, and Tomas Gonzalez among her supporters.  Connolly was an especially enthusiastic supporter in 2008 (a year after Wilkerson endorsed his successful council bid) - he and his wife gave maximum $500 donations to her senate campaign.

I have the same wondering the same thing as Peabody square above. Unseemly for a moderator and a little bit of a cheap shot for a reporter I thought.

Peabody & Judy: The reason I singled out Felix is because he's the one who said, during the forum, that one reason you should vote for him is that if you need a license in Boston you need someone to pull strings for you, and he's your guy. I was specifically commenting about that remark, which struck me as jarring. Had Connolly said something similar I certainly would have made the same point about that.

The insinuation you are making is that Felix Arroyo should not be able to talk about helping the community with licensing or else you will make it appear as though he is corrupt... nice one David.

That's an exact quote pulling strings because i was there and I believe he said "be your voice" which is incredibly different but as a reporter you would know that. No?
