[live preview] Choke Up!’s homecoming show, Sunday @ Wacky Kastle
Everyone's favorite local melodic-upbeat-hardcore outfit CHOKE UP! are about to
return from a three week tour during which drummer Harley Cox turned 21
(which he notes has been "rad but not drastically different than before," except
now band mates make him do the beer runs). Other notable tour adventures
included cliff jumping at the quarries in Bloomington, IN and "hanging
hard with kids from Kalamazoo, Michigan," Cox tells us.
Choke Up!'s return to Allston this Sunday, July 10, for a homecoming show at the Wacky
Kastle. They'll be playing with tour mates from Pennsylvania, the GREEK
FAVORITES along with FURNACE who bring the beards and are "the Boston
stoner punk staple." EX-MAGICIANS -- featuring members of Allston's now
defunct punk band KILL CONRAD and tongue-in-cheek
sensitive/self-deprecating singer/songwriter Jake Jenkins -- have joined
forces to bring their version of nice-guy punk to Sunday's show.
