[video] The Wandas + OldJack + Larcenist, Red Cross benefit @ Great Scott
This afternoon our pals over at Sleepover Shows posted a few videos from our fund raiser back in May, an effort that helped raise some coin for the southern communities decimated by tornados. Together, The Phoenix along with SOS and fellow music blog Ryan's Smashing Life downed more than our fair share of Great Scott picklebacks as THE WANDAS, LARCENIST, and OLD JACK provided a bluesy, Boston-flavored alt-country soundtrack for charity, with all proceeds from the door benefitting the Red Cross.
We raised a few hundred bucks, a good time was had by all, and the always-on-point Sleepover crew documented the evening in their usual fine fashion. Check the Wandas video above for their song "Tied A Knot," and click the SOS link above for footage of the other performances.
The Wandas, meanwhile, will release their new self-titled record in early September, and have a release party set for Sept. 9 at Church. Mark that on your calendar -- The Wandas is already being hailed as one of the year's best albums.
