The return of NBA Jam

ESPN reports that EA Sports has acquired the rights to bring back the NBA Jam franchise to the Wii in the not-to-distant future. The new version will, presumably, retain the original's two-on-two format and - let's hope - will also bring back the bells and whistles from the arcade and console classic, like the way players gain superpowers when they make three consecutive baskets ("he's on fire!") or the faux-Marv Albert commentary ("Jams it in!"). I just hope they stick to the two-man rule and don't adopt the "Championship Edition" substitution options. If this is tied to the 2011 season, I can already think of some pretty sick teams.
