Steve Jobs finally unveiled his latest brainchild, the much-anticipated iPad, at an Apple event in San Francisco just this morning. The technophile rumor mill has been grinding away at top speed over the past few months, as those both in the know, and not so much, have traded speculations over just what Apple's tablet might have to offer.

This week in the Phoenix, you will find a condensed version of an interview I recently conducted with one Michael Emerson, the Emmy-award-winning actor who plays Ben Linus, the villainous leader of The Others, on Lost. For print purposes, I focused mostly on what he had to say about the new season - which, as you might expect, was not very much explicitly, although I'm sure fans will find plenty to chew on regardless.

American fans of the BBC's Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood, will now be able to watch new episodes on their TVs instead of the internet: Fox has a US version of the show in development.

Before you gasp in horror, read on: this "remake" rests in the capable hands of BBC Worldwide Productions' US branch. American Torchwood star John Barrowman is the only confirmed Yank on staff - although his presence is more "maybe" than "yes" right now.

In marking the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons (which Fox marked last night with a documentary retrospective special assembled by Morgan Spurlock and featuring glowing testimonials from the beneficiaries of the show's trailblazing like Mike Judge, Trey Parker, and Seth MacFarlane), I could do a few different things.

Nintendo has announced they will release a new Wii Legend of Zelda title in 2010. Yay?

I mean, look: I am a fan of the franchise's past work. Link to the Past is almost certainly one of the best SNES titles out there. Ocarina of Time is, in spite of some flaws, engrossing and memorable with its open world (which seemed so huge back then) and then-impressive artistic touches.

The exhibitors at CES can pack up and go home, because it's clear what this year's gadget is: the remote-controlled AR.Drone helicopter from Parrot.

The normal two-rotor remote-control helicopters currently on the market will break your heart (and your windows) because they're just impossible to steer. But with its self-stabilizing four-rotor design, the AR.Drone can hover motionless in the air, ready to strike. It has two built-in cameras that transmit live color video, so it can spy on really unobservant people. You control it over wifi with an iPhone or iPod Touch.

Phoenix video-game reviewer Mitch Krpata writes on his blog about the new Borderlands DLC, "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot." Personally, I'm more excited about the other DLC, "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned," and plan to buy both in short order. Borderlands has been my favorite Christmas present, hands down. I have even started having dreams about completing quests, and while that may be unhealthy, I can't get myself to care.

ESPN reports that EA Sports has acquired the rights to bring back the NBA Jam franchise to the Wii in the not-to-distant future. The new version will, presumably, retain the original's two-on-two format and - let's hope - will also bring back the bells and whistles from the arcade and console classic, like the way players gain superpowers when they make three consecutive baskets ("he's on fire!") or the faux-Marv Albert commentary ("Jams it in!").

David Tennant inspired tears when he abandoned his post as Doctor Who's 10th Doctor this past weekend. Teresa Jusino pens him a sad and spoiler-ific goodbye over at Tor.com. Despite Who's positive reincarnation themes, it's still depressing to see the doctors die -- even though all of Tennant's fans (both fictional and real) knew the end had arrived.
