WHY THEM: There are lots of folks making music as Bangs these days, from folksy Brazilian garage rock bands to movie-loving Sudanese rappers to Chicago-based improv-comedy duos. But Anders Link and Ben Nadler of electro-pop Providence duo Bangs — with roots in both London and Wisconsin, two eternally intertwined locales — are by far the most intriguing despite flying under the Web radar with only seven "likes" (OMG!) of their Facebook page (as of press time). Bangs' Bandcamp has gotten more love with 30 "likes," where February's self-released Fakes EP boasts six tracks of multi-layered harmonies and electronic wizardry. "Catacombs" is a candyland of vocal melodies and synthpop goodness. In a musical hotbed such as Providence, we can't believe these Bangs have yet to blow up.
